Early Years Foundation Stage (Reception)
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is a comprehensive framework which sets the standards for learning, development and care of children from birth to 5.
When a child starts school they enter the Foundation Stage (Reception Class) in the September after their fourth birthday.
At Brassington Primary School we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, enabling children to enjoy a diverse and stimulating learning environment with our experienced Key Stage 1 teacher and Early Years Teaching Assistant.
Foundation Stage children form a big part of our friendly Key Stage 1 class although they receive their own curriculum and assessment process. They access both indoor and outdoor continuous provision which is planned around a rolling programme of themes which link into the Year 1 and Year 2 curriculum.
